Mumbai: The Bandra-Worli sea link, India’s first cable-held bridge over the sea, is nearing completion 10 years after work began on it.
The bridge was one of the biggest infrastructure projects in India and would cut down commuting time Bandra-Worli from one hour to seven minutes, say engineers. Car drivers will pay Rs 30 as toll tax to use the bridge when it opens in January 2009
