Nano works its magic at Geneva Motor Show

Geneva: Tata Motors on Tuesday presented Tata Nano, the People's Car, and three other vehicles, the new generation Indica, the new Safari DICOR 2.2 VTT and the Xenon at the 78th Geneva Motor Show.
The Nano will first be launched in India later in 2008. The new generation Indica will be launched in the latter part of 2008 in international markets. The Safari DICOR 2.2 VTT and the Xenon have just been introduced in select markets.
“When we displayed the Indica in Geneva in 1998, it marked our entry into passenger cars,” says Chairman of the Tata Group, Ratan Tata said.
He adds, “The last decade has been a period of significant development in Tata Motors' capabilities. The display of the Nano, which is a first for the global automobile industry, and the new generation Indica signifies in-house progression."

The standard version of Nano has been priced at Rs1,00,000 excluding VAT and transportation cost. Its safety performance exceeds regulatory requirements in India. In terms of overall pollutants, it has a lower pollution level than two-wheelers being manufactured in India today.
