New Delhi: Maoists in Nepal have warned of calling for a two-day nation-wide strike starting from December 31.
The Communist Party of Nepal (Maoists) is accusing the Seven Party Alliance of making unilateral political decisions.
The Maoists want the government to roll back all such decisions by the 30th of this month.
The Maoists and the Nepal government last month signed a landmark peace deal declaring an end to the decade-old anti-monarchy rebellion that has killed more than 13,000 people.
Under the deal, the Maoists are to join an interim cabinet after storing their weapons under United Nations supervision in the run up to next year's elections for a special assembly to map the country's political future and decide the fate of the monarchy.They are now protesting particularly against the government's nominations for ambassadors to 14 countries and for the post of the chief of the National Human Rights Commission.
These appointments were made before the Maoists joined the government.
The Maoists say that the transfer of top civil servants is also against their agreement with the ruling Seven Party Alliance.
