Mumbai: Ayesha Kapur and Parzan Dastur – child artists who made an impressive debut in their first films, Black and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai – will be seen together in a film titled Sikandar.

Ayesha who also bagged the National Award for Black says that she was in no hurry to sign films but the script of Sikandar convinced her to come back.

“It’s a beautiful script and the story is really lovely. I really wanted to play this role. I can get into the character because I don’t do any movie that someone will just about send me. I will only do something only if I feel that I can do a good performance in it,” says Ayesha.

Sikandar's story is set in Kashmir and revolves around a 14-year-old boy Talat Raza played by Parzan. And though Parzan plays a Kashmiri boy in the film, he is still remembered as the little sardar of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

“It’s really surprising you know because it’s been 10 years since we shot for Kuch Kuch but people still recognise me. That’s the imprint they have of the surdy boy, the Kuch Kuch boy they call me,” says Parzan.

Sikandar is produced by filmmaker Sudhir Mishra and directed by Piyush Jha, who was earlier behind Chalo America and King of Bollywood.

“The film is set in Kashmir and focuses on what has been happening in the Valley for the last 20 years. It’s based on true events but has been fictionalised. It’s a cry for hope. It’s like enough has happened in Kashmir and it’s time to move on to a better tomorrow,” says Piyush.

The film also stars Sanjay Suri and Madhavan in important roles and will have an international version as well.
