B S GANESH The blunder the government and gas companies have done is to allow LPG to be used for water heating. LPG that too subsidised must be only for cooking and any other use must be punishable. This government failed in their anxiety for vote bank. For water heating for bath etc Solar Heater must be encouraged to a maximum extent by reduced interst on loans. I am using Solar since three year in my house. I use electric current for heating only for about 20- 30 days in a year in extreme cloudy day. I feel I am contributing some thing for conservation of electricity. Politicians must think of economy, environment more than satisfying their voters. 2. The shortage may be due to shoratge of empty cylinders for refilling at LPG plants. If this is the reason, gas companies must try to collect the empties from residences the moment they get empty to replace when their working cylinder are about to get empty. This is a tough job and with active participation of consumers and gas companires can be done. It is better the gas companies specify whether GAS is in shortage or cylinders to find out solution. If empty cylinders are shortage this can be solved by consumers by returning, the moment it becomes empty. In Bangalore also there appears to be shortage as when I bookedm they saifd it takes 10 days.
