New Delhi: The Business Process Industry Association of India (BPIAI) has sought subsidies and tax benefits to promote export of services.

BPIAI has suggested this with a view to provide a fillip to booming business process outsourcing industry in India.

“Subsidies equivalent to duty drawback should be provided to the industry and the government can create policy to provide tax benefits to the BPI to promote export of services, “PTI quoted BPIAI President Sam Chopra as saying.

He also advised the industry to focus on tax issues and devalued dollar to create a future proof business model saying.

"The demand and supply issue of manpower and security concerns should be collectively addressed through proper education and tie-ups," a CII statement said.

Chopra who is Founder and Promoter CybizCall International asked the industry to be pro-active in hiring employees and get trained resources to meet the demand.

Outlining the roles and responsibilities of BPIAI, Chopra said it would provide a professional and responsive voice for the ever-growing business process industry in India and liaise with the government and regulatory bodies with a view to remove any bottlenecks and influence policies favouring development of the industry, the statement quoted.

BPIAI will help prepare and evolve standards for infrastructure, human resource development and process security for the BP Industry, he added.
