SHOW TIME: Festival kicks off with the screening of the Hong Kong film Sparrow.
New Delhi: July 10 will see the opening of the 10-day long, 10th annual Osian's Cinefan Film Festival in New Delhi. It's a perfect 10 and it has lots in store for all the cine fans with a short film section, a talent campus, sessions on this year's theme - literature-cinema relationship, interactions with Hollywood scriptwriter Paul Schreider and lots more.
So amidst so much activity what’s the highlight of this year's fest?
The festival kicks off with the screening of the Hong Kong film Sparrow at the Siri Fort auditorium. While Wong Kar Wai's My Blueberry Nights is the centerpiece film, the closing film of this festival is - Mumbai Cutting, in which 10 Indian filmmakers have collaborated to make one film.
The festival will be showcasing the best of Asian And Arab films including Blink, The Yellow House and Kantata Takwa among others.
But if you are not in the capital during this time do not despair as Osian's has their sights on Mumbai and Kolkata next..
The purchase of the Minerva theatre with the idea of turning it into film hub and prize money this year of Rs 1 crore, Osian's Cinefan Film Festival is clearly going to the next level.
