Should judges of the Supreme Court be allowed to travel abroad at the taxpayers' cost? Politicians and jurists say it is time judges too followed the rulebook.
"There should be a national judicial commission which will go into the veracity of these allegations because it is not good for the country and particularly for the judiciary to live with such allegations," Communist Part of India-Marxist Politburo member Sitaram Yechury said.
"Why should the government pay? The government has to pay to the place of the visit and not all the places where the judges go," GB Patnaik, former chief justice of India, said.
