Andhra Speaker admits no-trust motion by TRS, YSRCP

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker N Manohar on Friday admitted the notices for no-confidence motion given by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress against the Congress-led state government. Having found the notices in order, the Speaker took a head count on the motion moved by TRS Legislature Party leader E Rajender.
Forty-five members comprising the MLAs of TRS, YSR Congress, BJP, CPI and others stood up in favour of it. The no-confidence motion needs the support of at least 30 members to be taken up for debate.
The Speaker then adjourned the House to enable the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) to meet and take up the matter. The TRS and YSRCP has moved the no-confidence motion over the Telangana issue, power crisis and other problems of the people.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had on Thursday held a meeting with senior ministers and party whips to formulate a strategy following the decision by the TRS and YSR Congress Party to move a no-confidence motion.
It is learnt that AP Congress President Botsa Satyanarayana, ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Dharmana Prasada Rao, D Sridhar Babu, N Raghuveera Reddy, Kanna Lakshminarayana, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sudarsan Reddy, chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, whip E Anil and other senior party members attended the meeting.
TRS and YSR Congress had on Thursday given separate notices in the Legislative Assembly for no-confidence motion against the four-year-old Congress government in Andhra Pradesh.
