Chandigarh: Four media coordinators at divisional headquarters in Haryana and political advisor to Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said they may resign to uphold the Model Code of Conduct enforced in view of coming Lok Sabha elections.
I am thinking of resigning in view of the Code. The nature of my duties is such that I need to be with the Chief Minister at political and other functions (of the Congress party), Hooda's political advisor Virender told PTI when asked that rumours were rife that he had resigned. He said he does not want to give a chance to Hooda's and Congress party's political opponents to raise a finger at misuse of official machinery.Four media coordinators at the divisional headquarters Dilip Chawla (Ambala), Ashok Buwaniwala (Gurgaon), Sanjay Arora (Hisar) and Jaipal Singh (Rohtak) met the Chief Minister on Wednesday and told him that they were ready to resign to uphold the Code.In a communication to two media advisers and four media coordinators, the Public Relations Department of Haryana had asked them not to use government vehicles and other facilities for activities which violate the poll code. States opposition party Indian National Lok Dal in a recent complaint to the Election Commission accused some of them participating in political activities in violation of the Code of Conduct.
