Many Karnataka politicians exposed their worth of crores through affidavits. This clearly shows how they earned. In fact politics has become a good ground for minting money rather than application of cardinal princiles of " SERVICE, SACRIFICE and PATRIOTISM ". This show our CONSTITUTION HAS miserably failed to achieve its objectives. Just as MRTP ( Monoploy and Restricive Trade Practices Commission ", there is ned for " MRPP " ( Monopoly and Restrictive Political Practices Commission " and dynastic politics which allows accumalation of wealth and properties must be introduced. Besides in a poor country no politician should be allowed to have wealth beyond a certain limit and nust be confiscated mercilessly. Unless this is done politics can't be reformed. The middle class has not distanted from politics, will certenly come out in large number and vote but has lost hope that any party will bring any change to improve quality of life for them.most of the mla's immediatly after election start working towards recovering the money they spent on the elections,However kudos to the EC that the expenses(at least visible) are quite lower and people are not disturbed much.

In any type of government muscle power and money power have a role.In Democracy the elections are sostly process.I read the Biograpahy of the famous british Parliamentarian Edmunk Burk whose oratorical ablities knew no bouns in the 18 th century. In those days also money power in elections was there MPS taking bribes was there. That has been increasing.Crores were spent now even for the elections to the Legisaltive Councils from graduate constituencies where every voter is a minimum graduate. What to talk about ordianary elections?Only who can spend crores are coming in to the fray of elections. How can a middle class man or woman can enter the fray of election under such conditions?Middle class people depend on earning and most of them are job oriented.I am interested in politics from my boyhood. But I was forced to join a job and work there for 31 years.DR Bhogaraju Pattabhi Seetharamaiah a close associate of Mahatma Gandhi said that only persons with sound financial background should join politics. He and his family should not bother about their livilihood. That was his opinion. Another point in the debate is veterans like Narauyana Murthy,Azim premji Ratan Tata should enter in to politics. Is politics like running an Industrial concern or a business enterprise?Except for the Law portfolio no other department specifically need s specialist.Jagjivan Ram.Rafiq Ahmed Kidwai were not professors of agriculture. Ministeres who worked efficiently as steel and mines minstry were not doctorates in Geology.ND Tiwari and YB chavan were not chartered accountants or financial analyists. The Late DR N. Sanjeeva Reddy who was hailed as the most efficient speaker of Loksabha was not a legal luminary. He was an under graduate.Intelligence and will to serve is the only criterion for a politician. He or she she should learn constantly in Life.Jayalalitha was my favorite Glamour Heroine in our university days. But what is she today.Who can equal her in the knowledge of politics or Economics

The political stage as of now does not have the middle class in the radar itself. The focus of all politicians is only the backward class, dalits, farmers and muslims. The politicians are only seeking mandate to legitimise their ill gotten wealth or out to loot the mining, real estate wealth for their kith and kin. Ex ministers want tickets for their kin to continue the legacy of the loot. In the 20 months misrule in karnataka, each of these first time ministers is richer in crores! Like doctors children become doctors, politicians children want the same as they have tasted money power. Infact it is the middle class and upper class who work hard, develop skills filling the coffers of the government and the income tax department. Do you have the backward class or farmers even though they have enough wealth file tax returns?-they only want loan waivers. The middle class are getting fairly educated and have the ambition of the rich, but means of the poor. With just ideals and no money backing will take the middle class no where. For the future a serious thought to be considered is 10% allocation of seats by the parties to middle class candidates with qualification and ideals to establish in the political arena. The party backs the candidates like a sponsorship to develop a healthy political people base. Like reservations for women, constituencies, it could be a political interview with people applying with resumes.

The middle class is just afraid of the scale of money spent in election & to tackle with the criminals, who are a big percentage of our legislators. If a pyramid type is created to elect representatives in small communities, who in turn elect next rung of representatives & so on, then probably use of huge amount of money can be avoided. 95% of the middle class do not have access to that kind of money which is used by present day representatives, so even though they are interested in politics, they just can not think to enter into it.
