ENIGMATIC SONGTRESS: The Material Girl has been in the music industry for over 25 years.
New Delhi: Pop sensation Madonna turned 50 on Saturday. She has been successful in spanning her career across almost quarter a century.
Madonna has surprised us all with her ability to come up with something new every time.
She is a revolutionary in that she is a mother of three, movie actress, author, film director, and of course, still the undisputed queen of pop.
Marie Claire Magazine's Nicole Smallwood says, "Every time she needs to reinvent herself, she manages to do it, from the sexy kind of symbolism that she brings with her clothing to more sophisticated glamour now. She is ever changing."
Her first album Madonna was released in 1983 when she was 17.
From then on, she sold 120 million albums and 40 million singles.
Madonna has delivered all time hits like Material Girl and Like A Prayer.
Her latest album 'Hard Candy' was released in April this year.
However, It is not her music that people have been taking notice of these days, it is her looks.
While some feel that she is superfit for her age, some say her age does show.
Celebrity fitness trainer, Matt Roberts says that Madonna is phenomenally fit and that she works very hard to keep it that way. She feels that the good thing about being fit and healthy is that it shows in the face.
Shopping Editor, Grazia magazine, Stefan Lindemann, says, "Even though she is quite muscular she thinks the skin will sag off and will be hanging, which would not look good.”
Whatever it is, Madonna certainly has no intention of hanging up her crown any time soon.
Her next world tour Sticky and Sweet kicks off later this month in Wales.
She says, “I know the meaning of hard work and I know that anything that is important, you have to earn it and comes with struggle.”
It is this zest that has kept this Material Girl in the industry for over 25 years.
