New Delhi: The torch route in New Delhi's Rajpath has been sealed till Thursday, the day the Olympic run takes place.

Incidentally, Rajpath is not sealed even in the run-up to Republic day celebrations. However no traffic disruptions are expected.

A dry run on Tuesday with Chinese officials and the NSG is likely along the torch route. The government cut short the route from nine to three kilometers after concerns on the security of the torch was raised.

That security concern is because India is home to the largest number of Tibetans in exile.

Security for the torch has been increased, after its troubled runs beginning with the torch lighting ceremony in Greece then to its runs in London, Paris and San Franciso.

With Sports Minister Gill talking about excluding filmstars and politicians from the run, the list of people running in the relay will soon be finalized.

However, speculation is rife on who will participate in the relay.

The list of probable torch bearers among sportspersons are

  • Leander Paes
  • Manavjit Sandhu
  • Milkha Singh
  • Gurbachan Randhawa
  • Sachin Tendulkar
  • Gopichand
  • Anju bobby george
  • Abhinav Bindra
  • PT Usha

The two celebs on list are

  • Aamir Khan
  • Sagarika Ghatge
