RED LETTER DAY: Shilpa dressed in a Rocky S outfit looked overwhelmed walking the red carpet.
London: London's Leicester Square is where all the A-list films premiere like Casino Royale, the Harry Potter series and now an Indian film has joined that list.
On Tuesday evening, a bit of Bollywood history was created as Shilpa Shetty's film Life in a…Metro became the first Indian film to have its premiere in London's film district.
The red carpet was rolled out for the premiere of Metro with Shilpa dressed in a Rocky S outfit looking quite overwhelmed.
“I am so happy and proud, at last an Indian film here. It’s the happiest moment of my life,” Shilpa said.
While director Anurag Basu was nervous but enjoyed every moment of his time there.
“I am a bit nervous but let’s hope people like it, that's the real test,” Basu said.
Also walking the red carpet with Shilpa was her mother, sister and actress Shamita Shetty and her newfound friends like her Big Brother housemate Danielle Lloyd.
“This is the first Bollywood film and it’s great to be here,” Lloyd said.
Londoners lined up for hours to catch a glimpse of their new guest celebrity.
“She has become a big star but she was always a good actor,” Rupali said waiting to catch a glimpse of Shilpa.
And there were some who have been following Shilpa since her Baazigar days.
“I knew Shilpa Shetty long before. I loved her in Baazigar,” Susan Patel exclaimed.
This was the first of three world premieres for the film. On Wednesday, Shilpa will be walking the red carpet in Dubai and on Thursday back home in Mumbai.
