We Indian Muslims condemn this paintings of M.F Hussain. In Islam paintings of any living thing is not allowed as it may lead to idolatory the greatest evil, hence forget about nude paintings. This guy is not even a good Muslim, and must be punished for these vulgar paintings. More ever this has nothing to with appeasement, as the judiciary has given the verdict and not any political party. We Indians must respect the judiciary even though We may not like some of its verdicts. Jai Hind. As salaam alaikum.

Guys, Dont you know Congress(I) want to get votes from Muslim Vote Bank? IBNLive have at least written what the Congress(I) biased Supreme Court has to say. In the last few months, terrorists and guilty people have been set free in Mumbai, Afzal is still there because Congress(I) does not want to loose Muslim Votes. If its BJP at center, and should they hang Afzal (Justice for Parlament Vitcims), Congress(I) thinks BJP will loose Muslim Votes forever and they can again rule. What ever they say, Congress(I) has not defended the people of INDIA in every corner of INDIA. 60 Years History of INDIA speaks for itself!

no one fought for taslima. you can only ridicule hindus in this country. ridiculing hinduism is called secularism. hussain showed sita having sex with hanuman & saraswati having sex with ganesha. why can't he show his prophet raping a 9 year old child?????????????

Hate masters stop seeing every thing with coloured glasses. India is a secular country. Any voilation of law shall be dealt in it's context and not on basis of being hindu or muslim which of course the congress govts and law & order macinery have been doing succesfully time and again. You will not have threat from muslims neither in near nor in late future but from the oppressed Indian communities treated worst than animals by whom ? Give a serious thought. Consider every other person irrespective of religion (which should be personal matter) also humans!

Who will pay for the mental ageony the painter has gone thro during last few years because of some nonsence fundamattalists, who never think other side. I think, those who agitated and complained against MF husain should be penelised by the decree of SC without any recourse of appeal. Now a days, these fundamantalists are taking the nation for a ride and disturbing the thins for public in general and for individual in particular.

Dear friend, Who will pay for the mental agony of so many Indians who have seen the ugly paintings of Husain saab, I do agree that he is a good artist but he shouldnt take an undue advantage of it by painiting any thing that comes to his old mind.

Everybody has his own perspective for everything. But if one's perspective offends others then he should stop that. MF Hussain very well knows that his painting his going to hurt sentiments of hindus...he should have stopped after making one painting but no. As an ordinary citizen do I have prerogative to say or write anything about other religion or only VVIPS has this kind of liberty. Would have been better if court would have clarified.

You can make nude pictures of Hindu Goddess and you can call RAM Drunkard.. Congress led UPA will appease you.... just try to make fun of Prophet or Jesus Christ... and see what happend to you.... This UPA government is ANTI-HINDU... and that day is not far away when some Islamic Party will rule India and the same thing will happen to Indias what is happening to Maleysian Hindus..... God saves India...

This kind of "fairplay" could happen only in India, not even in the US where you cannot hurt Christian or Jewish sentiments...you can hurt Hindu sentiments in the country of its origin and get away with it. Hindus have no rights anywhere, not even in their own land.

Very well put Utkal. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing and it is being exercised by a lot of people in this thread.

Those unfamilar with Husain's art, here isa little excerpt from his interview which reveals a lot about his wisdom:
Shoma Chaudhury: Could you talk about how your exposure and love for Hindu iconography and culture began.
MF Husain: As a child, in Pandharpur, I was enchanted by the Ram Lila. My friend, Mankeshwar, and I were always acting it out. The Ramayana is sucha rich, powerful story, as Dr. Rajgopalachari says, its myth has become reality. But I really began to study spiritual texts when I was 19. Because of what I had been through, because I lost my mother, because I was sent away, I used to have terrible nightmares when I was about 14 or 15. All of this stopped when I was 19. I had a guru called Mohammad Ishaq – I studied the holy texts with him for two years. I also read and discussed the Gita and Upanishads and Puranas with Mankeshwar.. I have painted hundreds of Ganeshas in my lifetime – it is such a delightful form. I always paint a Ganesha before I begin on any large work. I also love the iconography of Shiva. The Natraj – one of the most complex forms in the world – has evolved over thousand years, and, almost like an Einstein equation, it is the result of deep philosophical and mathematical calculations about the nature of the cosmos and physical reality. When my daughter, Raeesa wanted to get married, she did not want any ceremonies, so I drew a card announcing her marriage and sent it to relatives across the world. On the card, I had painted Parvati sitting on Shiva’s thigh, with his hand on her breast – the first marriage in the cosmos. Nudity, in Hindu culture, is a metaphor for purity. Would I insult that which I fel so close to? ....

Mr. Utkal, Husband making love to his wife or vice versa is never wrong...but the same if done in public becomes a crime. Mr. Hussain is smart enough to understand whether or not his paintings are going to hurt sentiments of others and he should not have made the painting in the first place or should not have displayed it. As I said earlier, court should have made it clear that whether ordinary citizen of our country also has prerogative to say or write about other religion or is it only the rights of VVIPS?

There is a widespread misunderstanding that MF Husain paints Hinu deities in the nude to denigrtae them. Actually he celebrates them. Few outfits who have a communal agenda and want Hinduism to be a mirror image of islam in terms of restrictions on creativity are delibertaely sprerading this canard. He has been painting thousands of frames depicting Hindu deities as well as stories from Ramyana and Mhabharata and only three or four of them have been controversial. What about the thousands others? To understand the true stature and wisdom of Husain one should read his recent intereview parts of which I will quote in mu next mail. The best is of course to visit his website and look at his exhilarting art, which represents the energy, the colour and the imagination of India through the ages.
