Melbourne: Rumours are rife that pop singer Robbie Williams might play the role of The Joker in the sequel to Batman Begins.

Williams, who earlier worked with Batman Begins director Christopher Nolan in Insomnia, has shown a keen interest in playing the role.

"I would love to play the role of the Joker", Moviehole.net quoted him, as telling IGN Film Force.

The Feel singer says he loves comic books and feels that it is a great idea to make films based on the comic characters.

"They're making these really interesting films and there are a lot of great comic books and graphic novels out there that could make wonderful movies. Filmmakers are looking for such characters and it's really great," he said.
