Varanasi: Shooting of Rani Mukherjee-starrer Chudian was stalled on Saturday after Shiv Sena activists protested the barricading of a bathing 'ghat' on the bank the river Ganga.

Shiv Sainiks led by district unit president Gulshan Kapur staged a protest against the barricade erected at Manikarnika Ghat by the film crew, saying pilgrims were being prevented from bathing in the holy river and visiting nearby temples.

They relented after the film unit removed the barricade and assured the protesters that the film's shooting would not encumber the people or prevent them from visiting the ghat.

The unit later resumed work and actor Anupam Kher also arrived by a commercial flight from Mumbai to participate in the shooting of the film.
