The people's president, APJ Abdul Kalam, as he steps down as India's 11th President is making way for our first woman President, Pratibha Patil. Kalam, a President who seemed not to care much for trappings of high office, may or may not have been a great President. Yet he made his five-year stint in the Rashtrapati Bhavan somehow delightful.
