New Delhi: A local court on Friday permitted Abu Salem to get supplies of mineral water in jail.

Salem had filed an application in the court in which he said he was not receiving proper drinking water and sought to obtain mineral water from outside the prison.

Judge P V Bavkar permitted him to receive the mineral water and also allowed his lawyer to provide him with medication for a skin ailment he was suffering from.

Salem is being held in the Arthur Road Jail here as he awaits judgments in cases pending against him.

The court will also hear arguments on April 7 regarding the framing of charges against Salem for the murder of builder Pradeep Jain in 1995.

Two gunmen shot Jain on March 7, 1995 outside his house in suburban Juhu allegedly at the behest of Salem.

Salem, who was extradited from Portugal to India, is accused in three cases in the city, including the serial blasts in 1993.
