Jodhpur: A court in Jodhpur has served a notice on Bollywood actor Salman Khan for producing a false oath letter in the infamous black buck poaching case and asked him to reply by October 3.

Judicial Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit served the notice on Saturday after hearing the petitions by prosecution in the court under Section 340.

The court asked Salman why shouldn't the court lodge and fight cases against him.

The prosecution had earlier petitioned the court to take action against Salman for producing false witnesses under the same section.

The court had then served notice on him, to which the actor replied that it happened due to his fault and hectic schedule.

The prosecution said the oath letter was false and petitioned the court to put Salman on trial for it under Section 340.

Public prosecutor Chiranjilal Mali charged that Salman knew the Mumbai police had not renewed his arms licence.

Even after this, Salman lodged a complaint of his "missing licence" in the Bandra police station and produced the copy of it.
