New Delhi: Bollywood actor Salman Khan will appear before the Bandra Metropolitan Court in Mumbai on Friday in connection with a hit-and-run case.
In September 2002, Khan allegedly lost control of his car near the American Express Bakery in Bandra, killing a pavement dweller and injuring four others.
The trial began in August 2004 and has been going on for almost three years now because the witnesses did not appear in court.
On last occasion too, the trial proceedings had to be adjourned as witnesses in the case did not remain present for recording their evidences. Recently one of the key witnesses even changed his statement.
Initially, Salman Khan was booked under 304 (a) of the Indian Penal Code for negligent driving.
But later, the prosecution moved the court for an alteration of the charges. Subsequently, the charges were modified and the trial into the case commenced in Metropolitan Court at Bandra.
