Mumbai: Putting all rumours to rest, actor Sanjay Dutt came out to announce his wedding to girlfriend Manyata on Monday. The couple tied the knot in a traditional Hindu ceremony.

Dressed in a cream and red saree and walking by the side of her husband, Manyata looked pleased on her big day, even as Sanjay made no efforts to hide his own apparent joy.

“I told you all that I will tell you when I'm getting married. So here I am,” a beaming Sanjay said. While Manyata added, “I am very exhausted but very happy.”

However, the much talked about Bollywood wedding turned out to be a rather low-key affair. Among those who turned up include the actor's closest friends – actors Sunil Shetty and Arshad Warsi, and producers Nitin Manmohan, Dharam Oberoi and Bunty Walia.

“The couple looked beautiful. It’s made in heaven. I am very happy for them,” said music director Lalit Pandit said.

Good friend and co-accused in the 1993 blast case Yusuf Nalwalla was also amongst the well wishers.

Surprisingly however, Sanjay Dutt's immediate family was nowhere to be seen on his big day. His sister, Priya Dutt, when contacted, revealed that she had not been informed or invited for the wedding, thus in a sense confirming rumours of a rift between Manyata and the actor's sisters.

“Maybe he needed to formalise the relationship. He has been going on with Manyata for more than a year. I didn’t know about the wedding. We wish him all the happiness especially after all he has been through,” Priya said.

The couple, incidentally, formalised their relationship with a court marriage in Goa, earlier this month. The Hindu marriage ceremony, which started around noon on Monday, concluded around 1700 hours IST.
