Mumbai: The marriage of Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt and Manyata is under the scanner with the Goa state administration ordering an inquiry into the documents submitted by the couple.

Questions have been raised about the residence certificates provided by Manyata for the registration of her marriage.

As per Goa laws, one of the applicants has to prove that he or she had been a resident of the state for at least six months for registration of a marriage.

Sources said the residence certificate submitted by Manyata says she had been staying in Goa on a rented accommodation for the past six months.

Sanjay Dutt and Manyata had filed the declaration of marriage on February 7 before the Salcete Sub-Registrar, Pissurlekar, in Margao.

Manyata reportedly produced a residence certificate from the Salcete Mamlatdar, stating that she had been a resident of House No 1743, Aquem-Alto, Margao for the last six months.

As per the records at the sub-registrar’s office, Sanjay Dutt gave his place of residence as Gogol.

However, Manyata has not submitted any document supporting her divorce certificates.

The two later got married according to Hindu rituals in a simple wedding ceremony that took place at Dutt's friend, Pradeep's residence at Versova Badrinath Tower, in Mumbai.

Dutt had earlier been married to model Richa Sharma and Rhea Pillai and has a daughter Trishala from Sharma, who is studying in the USA.
