Kottayam (Kerala): Santhosh Kulangara, is a writer, entrepreneur and a globetrotter from Kottayam and is going be India's first space tourist. He recently returned from a space training session at the National Aerospace Training and Research Center in the United States.
The father of two, whose world revolves around his family and work in Kottayam, he is set to become the first Indian who will take a joyride close to the moon. It will be a three-hour space sojourn on board of the Virgin Galactic space ship. For this, the thirty-year-old Santosh will be spending about one crore rupees.
Santosh is back home from the training. But he has to master the technique of defying gravity, before he can feel on top of the world.
Virgin Atlantic's Richard Bransen and designer scientist Burt Rutan will unveil the space ship 'White Knight II - Eve' at the Mojave Space Port, after which the date of the final training session and the day of take-off will be decided.
