New Delhi: There is all the reason to feel bad, if your hard drive has crashed, but the good news is that there is life after death for your hard drive and your data can be recovered.

Stellar Information systems help you recover your hard drive, and they are, a phone call away. The recovery agent or the technician checks for vitals that are now non-existent and he then takes it straight to the class 100 clean room.

The reason we need a clean room is because the hard drive head can withstand only dust particles, which are 0.5 micron thick.

The hard drive in case of a crash, needs a head transplant. So a suitable donor is found from over 15,000 options. The needle is then set at a gap of 0.5 microns from the magnet coated aluminium disc, and the operation is successful.

However, you could also get a new hard drive. But what if there's nothing wrong with your crashed drive, but you still can't access your data, or have deleted it by accident?

The good news is that the data can actually still be recovered, whether they are pictures on your digital camera, files on your computer or your pen drive.

With software ranging from Rs 1600 to Rs 5000 from companies like stellar, the lost data may be recovered, through a user-friendly and hassle free interface.

If you want to erase a file beyond recovery, then you'll find them from companies like ontrack, voomTech and disk-wiper. But think thrice before you use them.
