New Delhi: Skin care in summers usually means putting a lot of sunscreen. But you have to make sure you pick the right sunscreen. Check the SPF or sun protection factor. The minimum SPF factor recommended for an outdoor sun exposure in Indian summer is 25.
Also sunscreen should be re-applied often after swimming and even after sweating. “Sunscreen lotions usually available in the market have to be used before using applying moisturizer,”
But for many of us the summer also sees a lot of breakout. While many of us tend to ignore moisturisers this season.
“In summers moisturizers are very important because it keeps the skins from drying. It helps avoid dehydration of skin,” says Jagpreet Kaur Skin care expert.
Another biggie for skin care this summer is exfoliation. If you don’t have time to splurge in a spa, then here are some handy tips for you. At spas they usually use exfoliation masks but back at home you can use mashed papaya and pineapple. However, avoid using scrubs as they can cause minor scratches to the skin.
Your feet also need attention, especially to make the best display of those trendy sandals. The dryness and heat can lead to cracks in the feet. A pedicure is a must with using exfoliates like glycolic acid and masks made of cucumber, turmeric and sandalwood can help you put your best foot forward.
