New Delhi: Indians are chomping through 3 million pizzas a month and it’s number is expected to rise by 30-40% within a year’s time.

Dominos, one of the masters in the trade of pizzas hopes to warm up winter sales by offering great schemes. According to industry estimates, the total branded quick service restaurant or the QSR market is worth Rs 1200 crore and pizzas make the biggest QSR slice with about 50% sales contribution. With the festive season round the corner, consumers will be surely spoilt.

“During winter, the sales are sure to go up, especially between 25-31st December. New Year is definitely a big day for the industry,” says Dev Amritesh, VP Marketing, Dominos.

Pizza hut too, will be launching a new promotional campaign around New Year's. Dominos and Pizza Hut, together contribute to over 75% of the branded pizza QSR market.

With new pizza players like Papa Johns in the market, competition is intense. Pizza hut is targeting more than 50% revenue contribution from home delivery, but its going to be a tough fight with dominos controlling almost 60% of the home delivery market that's growing at almost 50%

.

The pizza battle for market share will mean only better offers and discounts to the Indian consumer, who can relish the pizzas at a better price. With the festive season round the corner, consumers will be surely spoilt.
