New Delhi: The Supreme Court is today scheduled to deliver a verdict on reservation for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates from the all-India quota in PG medical admissions.

A candidate has filed a petition before the court that present admission rules have no reservation in the all-India quota.

The petitioner contended that as per an apex court verdict, 50 per cent of postgraduate medical seats are reserved under the all-India quota and 50 per cent under the state quota.

This will mean that the 50 per cent all-India quota would be calculated only after deducting the number of seats set apart for the reserved categories.
