PROBE ON: Forensic Report said Scarlett Keeling was forcibly drowned.
New Delhi: In a latest development in the British teenager Scarlett Keeling's death probe, the forensic report has suggested that she did not die of drugs, but was forcibly drowned.
CNN-IBN has exclusive access to the investigation report, which completely overturns the police version that she was drugged before drowning in the shallow waters of the beach.
The Goa medical college forensic report demolished the Goa police stand that Scarlett died of drug overdose and drowning. The report confirmed murder.
The report also confirmed that she was not high on drugs and alcohol on the night before her body was found.
Reacting to the recent development, Scarlett Keeling's mother Fiona Mackeown said, “I have been saying this all along. There have gaps in the investigation reports.”
“We tried going to the CM and he turned the request for CBI probe down. A CBI enquiry is the answer. I knew this before but they have been ignoring me,” she added.
Recently Mackeown accused the Goa Home Minister and state Director General of Police of being in nexus with drug mafia.
Levelling fresh allegations against the state authorities, Mackeown accused Home Minister Ravi Naik and DGP Brar of a cover-up in the case.
She claimed that there was a deep nexus between the Goa Government and the drug mafia and that the mafia, Naik and Brar are working hand in hand.
Earlier Goa Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat defended the state police and ruled out a CBI probe into British tourist Scarlette Keeling's murder.
"I am confident that Goa Police will crack this case in two to three days time," he said.
He expressed confidence that the North Goa Police would investigate the case well.
Kamat also said: "The Superintendent of Police of North Goa will conduct an inquiry into the case. If there is any negligence on part of the Anjuna Police Station, we will take action against the policemen involved."
