New Delhi: A Gurgaon court has sent Azad Singh Yadav, father of the main accused in the Gurgaon school shooting case to 14 days judicial custody.

Azad was taken into custody after his one-day police remand ended on Sunday. At the time of his arrest on Friday, Azad said, "My son should be punished for what he has done. The gun doesn't belong to me and is licensed against my friend Dalal."

The police have increased the purview of their investigations to find out if Azad conspired to get 14-year-old Abhishek Tyagi murdered by his son and whether he taught him to use the weapon that was used in the shooting.

Raj Singh Dalal, who Azad claims is the owner of the gun used in the shooting, is still absconding.

The police had earlier registered a case of negligence against Azad Singh under Sections 25, 45 and 59 of the Arms Act.

Class VIII student Abhishek Tyagi, son of property dealer Rajinder Tyagi, was killed by Aditya and Vikram (names changed), when they fired five bullets at him from close range in the school premises on Tuesday.

Both the accused have been sent to 14-day judicial custody at a Juvenile Home.
