Schoolkids suffer as violence in Jammu Kashmir shuts school

LIVES ON HOLD: Little ones wait for to return in the valley so they can resume routines.
The unlikely casualty of the flaring violence in Jammu and Kashmir has been the routine of the school-going kids.
The violence over the Amarnath land allotment issue that has raged over the past few days has kept the little ones away from school.
Politicians continue to debate and mull over the issue and children pray that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Schools are shut and so are public transport and shops. Normal life is on hold.
One school-going boy urged, βThe leaders in J&K should allow us to go to schools and not ruin our lives like this.β
Another said,β We have suffered so much. Our exams are going on and the school administration is not ready to conduct our exams...so we have to struggle to cover (our syllabus) during this year.β
Braving hostile streets and absent transport, a few children arrived at school gates, only to be turned away.
Confused, struggling and clueless, thousands of school kids in Jammu and Kashmir do not understand why the adult citizens are warring over issues when all they want is their life back.
