Seventy Indians honoured with the Padma Shri

The awards were presented at a ceremony held in the Ashoka Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukehrjee, playback singer Asha Bhosle and Infosys mentor N R Narayana Murthy are among the 13 people conferred with India's second highest civilian honour - Padma Vibhushan. CNN-IBN's Editor in Chief Rajdeep Sardesai was among 70 Indians to be conferred the Padma Shri. The function was attended by Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
