DANCING QUEEN: Shilpa plays Maya, a small time dancer from India, in a dance theatrical extravaganza.
London: Shilpa Shetty was spotted once again in London. After the Big Brother win, her film Metro's premiere and a perfume launch, the actress was at London's West End on Tuesday to publicise her first stage show Miss Bollywood, which premiered in Germany in September and has been touring the UK ever since.
In this song and dance theatrical extravaganza Shilpa plays Maya, a small time dancer from India who has to brave the odds against her even as she aims to make it big as a dancer in London.
“It is really funny you know because Maya is someone who has just settled down in London and she has to cope with her house and studio being demolished. She's a small time dancer and she auditions for a big dance company and the producer is hitting on her and she is actually in love with the choreographer,” a very excited Shilpa says.
She then explains “how she (Maya) stands up for herself and her rights and how she stands by her values. It's all about believing in yourself, believing in your talent and not giving up easily in life.”
And though tabloids have been speculating on the actress' love life, Shilpa states that as of now there is no Mr Right in sight, admitting that her personal life is “pretty dull.”
“I'm sure there is a time and place for everything. Right now I have been so busy traveling. I've been living out of a suitcase for the last two months. I can't wait for a holiday and I need one so badly, but even then I say that it's all been fantastic. When you are on a tour it's just one big family and I'm quite looking forward to every show. It feels good when your promoter says 'the next four shows are sold out.' It feels really good,” Shilpa says.
Miss Bollywood will be staged at the Royal Albert Hall in London on December 12.
