ALL EXCITED: Anjali Bhagwat is in her third Olympic Games and one of India's medal hopes.
Beijing: One of India's medal hopes is shooter Anjali Vedpathak Bhagwat, who is in her third Olympic Games. Anjali spoke to CNN-IBN's Digvijay Singh Deo about her preparations and sounded confident of putting up a good show.
CNN-IBN: So all set. The competition is just a few days ago?
Anjali Bhagwat: Yes, so far all set. I am very happy in the Village. It is an amazing Village. We were here for the World Cup. So the range is not new for us and the practice is going very well.
CNN-IBN: I heard yesterday you all bumped into Rafael Nadal. Enjoyed?
Anjali Bhagwat: Yes we all go together for the meals and it is quite exciting to be among all the top-level athletes. Nadal was there, a few gymnastics players were there, other tennis players were there. It was amazing. I mean the experience is great.
CNN-IBN: When you spoke to me in Delhi you said that you were excited. Has it increased, as it gets closer to the opening ceremony? Do you think the intensity is there?
Anjali Bhagwat: It the same. It all started in India. When we come here it has gone down because you are here you have that feeling, you know shooters. You know then. They were there with you in the world Cup and other tournaments as well. They are the same shooters you were shooting with. It is just Olympics.
CNN-IBN: Tell us something. How will your experience be crucial?
Anjali Bhagwat: I think experience helps you in your preparation not during the real competition because when ever you stand in the lane for the big competition like Olympics you have the same pressure, the same expectations. You have to control your mind and have same focus, same technique. You should plan your schedule in a good way. So we had good exposure abroad, good training camps abroad, good equipment tested in the factory so technically we are all set now.
