Actor Shreyas Talpade is the latest addition to the film Golmaal Returns.
Actor Shreyas Talpade talks to CNN-IBN’s Manisha Mahaldar on his forthcoming films and his reported rift with director Nagesh Kukunoor.
CNN-IBN: Your last film Welcome to Sajjanpur won critical acclaim. Any interesting responses that you got after the film released?
Shreyas Talpade: There were quite a few considering it was Shyam babu's film. The film had a mass appeal and that is something that we did not expect. I remember some hawkers near my house complimented me for the film.
CNN-IBN: You are the latest addition to Golmaal Returns. Tell us something about your film.
Shreyas Talpade: In the film I work for Ajay Devgan and my character is such that I can go to any lengths to help my boss.
CNN-IBN: We have heard that not all is well between you and Nagesh Kukunoor. You are no longer his blue-eyed boy. Is it true that he is not planning to cast you in his films?
Shreyas Talpade: (Laughs) Well this is actually a question for Nagesh as to why he is not casting me in his films right now. But you know the thing with Nagesh is that – in fact he had mentioned it to me long back after we did Iqbal – we are friends but that does not mean that I will be in every film that he makes.
CNN-IBN: You are turning producer for Marathi films now. What kind of films are you looking to fund?
Shreyas Talpade: The kind of films that I am looking at are not the usual run-of-the-mill kind of comedies.
CNN-IBN: Thanks for talking to us.
Shreyas Talpade: Thanks.
