Siemens brings 'Music 2 You'

New Delhi: Mobile handset manufacturer Siemens has signed an agreement with Hutchison Essar for its music download technology 'Music2You'.

The unique service enables preview, purchase and download of full-length songs on a mobile handset.

"Music download is today one of the most sought application over mobile and globally digital music is creating new benchmarks. We are proud that Hutchison Essar, has chosen to partner with us in implementing its music download service," said Siemens Public Communication Networks (Pvt) Ltd Managing Director Michael Kuehner.

"This technology would also restrict unlawful copying of downloaded music," he added.

Hutch customers can now purchase their favourite songs at their convenience anywhere, anytime on their Hutch phones.

"This innovation allows our customers to download full songs of at a faster download speed," Hutchison Essar Chief Marketing Officer Naveen Chopra said.

The cost of music downloads will be charged to the user's wireless telephony bill.
