New Delhi: The ACP RAjbir Singh murder case is getting murkier. The Haryana Police has now recommended a CBI probe into the case.

Senior police officers of the Haryana Police department have told CNN-IBN's Special Investigation Team that a CBI probe has been recommended because the murdered ACP had underworld connections.

The main accused, Vijay Bhardwaj disclosed to the Haryana Police that ACP Rajbir Singh had huge investments in real estate across several states. Bhardwaj said Rajbir used him as a conduit to invest his black money.

Haryana Police sources say the Delhi Police encounter specialist also used Bhardwaj as a recovery agent and that Rajbir had given him a revolver four months ago to recover money from a property dealer in Jaipur.

Haryana Police sources also disclosed to CNN-IBN Special Investigation that Vijay Bhardwaj had run up a debt of Rs 6.5 crore in his real estate business. He was under tremendous pressure from people whose money he had invested, including that of Rajbir Singh, because of which he even attempted to commit suicide a few months ago.

Vijay Bhardwaj has given a list to the Haryana Police which contains the names of people whose money he would invest in real estate.

He told the police that Rajbir Singh was a frequent visitor to his place. They would often drink late into the night and on such occasions Rajbir was not accompanied by his security men.

Haryana Police now wants to extend Bhardwaj's remand so that they can continue the Investigation.

Gurgaon Joint Commissioner, Manjit Singh Ahlawat says, "We will have to seek more time and take an appointment for a narco-analysis test."

So far, the Haryana Police has speedily investigated the case and prepared a very strong ground for the CBI to take over.
