New Delhi: They say that ignorance is bliss, but that's something you can't have anymore. If you just surf the Net, you can get loads of advice on health issues — from common colds to serious illnesses — and that is something which is turning us all into cyberchondriacs.

However, there are also some studies which are funny to say the least and needless to say, a must ignore.

Take for example one which CNN-IBN found online — it was called: "Eat banana peel to ward off blues".

Researchers from Taiwan say eating this can help ease depression, because it is rich in mood alleviating hormones. All that is fine, but imagine eating a banana peel — raw!

Remember, depression is a serious condition and you must seek advice from a doctor and let the peel be!

The next one comes from the University of Zurich, a nasal spray that can help you socialise, as it contains a feel good hormone called oxytocin. Try this one at your own peril, if nose-bonding is what you would like.

Researchers from London suggest that love can actually make one sick. It could cause sweating of palms, increase your heart rate and even flu like symptoms.

And this is the best one — a study that says: "Stressed moms are likely to have girls". According to high school science, the gender of a baby depends on the number of chromosomes and definitely not on stress levels during pregnancy. Stress can certainly affect your baby's health, but not the gender.

The moral of the story — even high school science comes handy, and at all other times, use your common sense.
