Mumbai: This Friday’s film releases have everything from the old to the new. From Big B playing a ghost in Bhoothnath to finally we'll see how good is the great Mithun's son, Mimoh Chakraborty, in Jimmy.

    Bhoothnath

A Ravi Chopra production — Bhootnath is the story of seven-year-old Banku, played by child actor Aman Siddiqui who finds an unlikely friend in the resident ghost of his house.

The initially reserved bhoot, played by Amitabh Bachchan, warms up to Banku and together the duo play pranks on others.

Juhi Chawla plays Banku's widowed mother and Shah Rukh Khan makes a special appearance as his father.

The film's music directors, Vishal-Shekhar and Salim-Sulaiman have got Bachchan and Chawla, to sing for the film, so listen in carefully.

    Jimmy

This Friday sees the rise of yet another star-son. Raj Sippy's Jimmy marks the debut of our desi disco-dancer, Mithun Chakraborty son Mimoh Chakraborty.

And like all other star-son launch pads Jimmy also showcases Mimoh's every possible talent from dancing to flexing his muscles.

Mimoh plays Jimmy who works as a car engineer by the day and doubles up as a DJ at night, the film is all about Jimmy trying to get his life back on track, after an incident that changes his life drastically.

But only time will tell if this film will turn out to be a successful launch pad for Mimoh's or not.

    Speed Racer

Written and directed by Wachowski brothers, Speed Racer is a live action film adaptation of the 1960s Japanese animation series of the same name.

Emile Hirsch plays Speed Racer, a natural behind the wheel but when he turns down a lucrative offer from Royalton Industries, its maniacal owner threatens him.

Now the only way to save his family's car business and the sport he loves is to beat Royalton at his own game.

With the support of his family and his loyal girlfriend, Trixie played by Christina Ricci, he teams up with his one-time rival — the mysterious Racer X to win the race that took his brother's life — the death-defying, cross-country rally known as — ‘The Crucible’.

Also starring Susan Sarandon, this one is for speed lovers.
