The first and foremost questions hasn't been asked ever whenever anyone possed this big questions to ppl about "AZADI". The question of how will they survive after getting so called independence. What will happen to them in this fearfull world once the parent remove the hand from their head. It is not easy to live when you doesn't have basic things to survive. I know that even when those 89% responded for freedom they did assume that India will continue to feed them, provide security and other basic necessity. well may be this all happen because of India's crappy foreign policy, but u can't take such big decisions on assumptions. Do they have enough resources to survive on their own? Ask this questions merged with the question of freedom and then see the answers. Everyone loves freedom, but before that everyone wants to survive. Somehow survival superseeds everything in this world. So please frame your questions correctly and then ask them what is their wish. " A wrong question is always being asnwered wrongly"

I strongly suggest some sort of autonomy to be given to the valley. And we need to free Jammu and Ladakh from Kashmir. Otherwise in the loop of violence, they are also sufferring.

Can Kashmir survive only on its own. What is the infrastructure there to support its citizens? Wihtout the help from outside there is hardly a plausibility for it to sustain any economic activity except maybe for tourism for which also they will have to ensure a safe environment. It is the security forces and only these forces who have made it possible for whatever movement can be made by people in the valley in terms of sustainable trade. It is very strange that learned people cannot see through this. Where will electricity and foodgrain come? Almost every morsel is being provided at a hugely concessional price and al at the cost of Indian taxpayers. Not many are aware and will not be made accessible to the funding process for this state. A political endeavor kept alive for engagement of a handful with the public playing into what is projected

Its heartening to know kashmiris rejected pakistan. Now they should be allowed to decide their own future. THis is going to happen one day whether we like it or not.

Allow other Indians to set up business and buy land in Kashmeer. Soon 100% Kashmeeri ppl will realise that they should be in India.
The only reason for the misery of the Kashmir and its ppl is the evacuation of Kashmiri Pandits and lack of employment which can help kashmiri ppl to dream about their future.

*A C Nielsen-- Do you remember this company; the company responsible for the split-up in karunanidhi family;
Nothing so special about this poll as it was conducted by A C Nielsen; so nothing to worry; but like to add a word Kashmir is integral part of our country INDIA; --- JAIHIND

I am from jammu. I just wanted to write some basic things that the people in J&K should think.. Its not about how you live, its all about how your coming generations will survive!!
Case 1:
If Kashmir becomes an independent nation -- how will it sustain on its own?? Though very very difficult but the only way is tourism, then it will loose all its beauty as other places have!!
What if relations with other neighbours or some other countries go wrong, will it be strong enough to put forward its point!!
What if US says osama is hiding in Kashmir?? :-) i think everyone knows what will happen then!! Though it seems to be funny point, but everyone knows how serious it can be!
Case 2:
Adding it to Pakistan, thats out of the question!! [ even if people want to think of this case also, just see the political condition of pakistan before that and its economy is a mockery which everyone is aware of!]
From my point of view, its hightime that we leave all these intra-religion politics behind and work together for the progress of the valley and the country which needs loads and loads of heart from the people of the valley for INDIA!! because thats the only way terrorism can be removed from the valley..
Ye meri dili tammana hai ki mein pehle jaisa kashmir phir dekh paon.. kyonki ,
DUNIYA MEIN KAHIN JANNAT HAI, TO YAHIN HAI, YAHIN HAI!! May people of kashmir live for peace for ever..

Yes, right from pre-independence days, Kashmiri mindset was for an independent Kashmir. Maharaja Hari Singh and Sheikh Abdulla would never had agreed to merge Kashmir into India, had not the Pakistani 'kabayalees' (read Pak Army) invaded Kashmir at that time. It is only after Kashmiri Pandits who have been driven out of the valley, they now think differently. Even Pandit Nehru - dtrue to his Kashmiri descent ensured that Kashmir retains a special status in the Union and therefore could not merge fully into the Indian Union. He never allowed displaced persons (Hindus) from West Pakistan to get settled in Kashmir. So Kashmiris - Hindus or Muslims have a distict identity of their own and therefore find it difficulty to merge with the Indian identity. Article 361 of the constituion is a case in point. I remeber, even 30 yrs ago, when I had been to Srinagar, the local Muslim shopkeepers openly used to tell us that 'you are Indian and we are Kashmiri'

consideration should also had been taken of the 70% displaced kashmiri population from there. Kashmiri pandits/ sikhs/hindus/ also kashmiri muslims now within india should also had been included and then the poll results shown. then you would have seen a chenged verdict. also regions within kashmir was not taken into consideration like ladahk, some leh etc.. this is totally biased survey. it is because of these types of biased and unrealistic indian surveys that 90% of surveys by any indian authority(ies) is being rubbished by other countries/WHO/UN ... if unable to do proper reporting or surveys, kindly try to contact any foreign institute for the purpose, be it for caste based surveys, illiteracy surveys, religion based surveys, poverty surveys etc...please dont go around doing idiotic surveys like this .
