Princess Diana died 10 year ago and since then she has become a legend and almost a myth.

Diana has earned many titles: the people’s princess, the royal who reinvented the British royalty, celebrity single mother, pop icon and the most photographed women in the world.

A study of articles in the British media over the past 10 years found she gets 8,000 mentions a year. From the day she married Prince Charles the media courted and hounded Diana.

The cameras stopped following her till that day in Paris when her car crashed in a tunnel. Diana’s fans blame the media for her death. But was Diana a creation of the media?

CNN-IBN’s Face The Nation asked this to former BBC correspondent Sam Miller, former Nawab of Lucknow Jafar Mir Abdullah and Malavika Sangghvi, the lifestyle editor of DNA.

The initial result showed 65 per cent of people said, no Diana phenomenon is not the creation of media while only 35 per cent agreed to the fact.

Every time one things of Diana we think of the media paparazzi as the villain but did the media exploit Diana or Diana equally used the media?

Answering the question Miller said, “I think certainly by the end they were using both each other. In the early days on number of occasions there were so many embracing incidents from which she came out over all. Later on she deliberately used it and used it in a way that one can applaud. If you think that what she did with HIV AIDS where she would publicly be shaking hands to hugging someone who was living with HIV AIDS, she used the media in an appropriate way. “

“When she was revealing her inner most feeling about her marriage it wasn’t about her exploiting the media it was about her baring her relationship with the world because she could no longer deal with it between the individuals who were involved in that, “ he added.

As we look at celebrities do we actually like it when beautiful people here was someone who was fairy tale princess who ended up having a difficult and tough life was that combination the beautiful princes who had the sad life irresistible.
