Mumbai: Not everyone gets to see the wild side of life, but winner Mayur Kamath of reality series Unearthed on Animal Planet managed to do just that.

Kamath’s hobby not only made him a winner, but he beat a whole host of wildlife filmmakers winning the reality series. And the rewards have prompted a change in career for the 28-year-old engineer.

"I have decided to pursue this as a career. I have my own NGO now after the show. I have registered my NGO and I want to try to promote wild life conservation,” says Kamath.

Chosen from over 34,000 applicants, Kamath got a chance to travel to South Africa and shoot a three-minute film, at a game reserve.

He also learned how to operate a camera and edit his own film. And this is one break he wants to make the best of.

"I've got the break and now I can go out in the world and do what my heart wants,” says Kamath.

And Kamath is doing just that. The first time filmmaker is now waiting to start shooting his next film on wildlife conservation soon.
