Nandigram (Kolkata): The CRPF has arrested two people in Nandigram in connection with the recent violence in the area.
Durga Jena from Gokulnagar and Purna Bijli from Garubara were arrested on Friday night. They have been charged with rioting.
The two, whose names appear in the local police list, have been handed over to the local police.
The CRPF had earlier found human bones and ashes from graves at a village near Khejuri.
West Bengal government on Thursday ordered a CID inquiry into the identities of the persons whose charred bones and portions of skull were exhumed from five crudely-dug graves at Khejuri-Talatula near Nandigram.
Nandigram has recently seen a spate of violence between CPM cadre and those opposed to a proposed SEZ project there.
Civil unrest in both Nandigram and Singur has put the West Bengal government on the back foot on promising land to companies that want to set up shop here.
