Lucknow: Two people were arrested on Thursday for the possession of 1,100 detonators and a quintal of the widely used commercial explosive ammonium nitrate, the Uttar Pradesh Police said.

"Jitendra Kumar alias Babloo and Amresh Patel were arrested from the Ahrohra in Mirzapur district, about 300 km from Lucknow," police officer L R Bhasker stated.

"Jitendra and Amresh are being interrogated. We cannot rule out the possibility of their involvement with Naxalites," he added.
