Dr. Cajetan Coelho Life indeed is precious. Fine report on the rescue of the innocent child. These young ones are the future of our country. Let us pray that all may go well with Vandana.

Aman I am amused that such minor incidents are blown out of proportion to make them mainstream news. On top of that it even more amusing that this the most read/ commented news for the day. Just goes on to show that these are news snippets that we Indians actually want (Masala and mre Masala) and at the same time also say that news channels these days show anything and everything from saas bahu saga, encourage superstition, drama, et all but no news..
I am going back to DD News. Wish they had an online version too.

Charanjit After having proved our mettle as a software superpower, after 60 years of independence, I believe rescuing children stuck-up in wells and bored holes is the next big competency India has acquired considering the number of such incidents being highlighted by the media of late.

But alas, apart from getting the d-day eyeballs, media cannot go and get the culprits booked. Alas, such incidents are forgotten from memory very soon waiting for another one to happen.

Congrats to the Army however for their unrelenting support and kudos to little Vandana for bearing with the state of affairs in this nation. Wish her a speedy recovery.

Mohita Kudos to the army...n the officials, guility of such negligence should be actually stoned to death...!
How many children might be dying of this kind of gross negligence...
Thanks to the media for highlighting the issue....! Some channels overdo it...but if a life is saved..it's probably worth it...

harbir singh India is perhaps one of the most dangerous places on earth to raise kids. There are dangers lurking at every corner once you get get out of your home besides the ones that exist within your homes due to poor construction.
The list is endless and little and nothing is being done about by the civic authorities in 50 years:
. Ever increasing stray dogs and other animals on the streets.
. Ever increasing bad drivers on the road, making it unsafe to cross any street.
. Open manholes all around.
. Excrement all around.
It is time to outsource these jobs to private companies and the public should demand the same in increasing numbers. India remains lawless and reckless as ever.
