UK sends India formal request for more info on Kafeel

The Indian connection to the UK terror plot is turning out to be very strong.
New Delhi: India will be helping Britain by providing information on Bangalore brothers Kafeel and Sabeel Ahmed in connection with the failed car bomb attacks in London and Glasgow in June this year.
Britain has formally sent a Letter of Request to the Indian Home Ministry seeking help.
Sources say Britain wants help in collecting and corroborating technical evidence, including call records and Internet communication of both Kafeel and Sabeel.
Though the LR did not mention what exactly needed to be corroborated, it is learnt that the investigators want to cross-check the text message by Kafeel to his brother during the period between the London and Glasgow attacks.
The Home Ministry inturn has directed the CBI to coordinate with the Karnataka Police to do the needful.
Confirming this, CBI chief Vijay Shankar said that he has received such a letter and has asked the Karnataka Police to execute the orders.
Kafeel Ahmed died of burns after being injured in the failed attack, when he drove his jeep into the glass doors of the main airport terminal and set it ablaze.
His brother Sabeel was charged with possessing information that could have prevented an act of terror.
