Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Lucknow's Ambedkar Udyan is being spruced up after years of neglect. Officials are working overtime to ensure Mayawati's dream project is ready before May 11.

For the babus (government officers) of UP, the writing is on the wall for come counting day and BSP's elephant will lead the race. Even Mulayam Singh's own ministers are clueless about the work in the park.

Says state Urban Development Minister, Azam Khan, "The officials have been working under the Election Commission orders for two months now."

Mayawati, meanwhile, is simply cooling her heals in Lucknow. She seems confident that her party will form a government on its own and even though the Congress has hinted at a post poll tie up, Mayawati is far from interested.

"We don't want the support of Congress, BJP, SP or any other party," says she, confidently.

However, the Samajwadi Party is not totally oblivious to which way the wind is blowing. Mulayam Singh Yadav has been air-dashing to Delhi to work out the best possible scenario.

He doesn't seem averse to a tie up with anyone and says the people of UP are with him.

"I accept that there could be a hung Assembly in UP, but what has to be done will be decided after the results are out"
— BJP President, Rajnath Singh

"The people of UP will support the Samajwadi Party," says he, though he is not as confident as Mayawati.

Ambedkar Udyan park was constructed by Mayawati almost 10 years ago when she became the chief minister for the second time. But whenever Mayawati went out of power, the park too was left neglected.

The same park is now being given a face-lift once again, maybe signaling the arrival of Mayawati once more.
