DROPPING A BOMB: M K Narayanan told CNN-IBN that there was more mayhem in the offing.
New Delhi: Five bomb blasts ripped through India's national Capital on Saturday - in upmarket Greater Kailash I, Connaught Place and Ghaffar Market - that shook the Capital's confidence.
And now, the National Security Advisor has told CNN-IBN that this wasn't all. M K Narayanan says there was more mayhem in the offing.
"We have met with some successes and have nipped trouble in the bud in the past two-three days," he said.
He refused to elaborate on the subject but conceded that the tragedy was averted in the nick of time in Delhi.
Narayanan stated that these successes would be discussed at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday as well as whether the intelligence the Centre had on the blasts was good enough. [Read Story: Mr 'Presentable' Patil's troubles]
Criticism from within the Government that intellligence reports are now like weather reports will also come up for discussion.
"As an intelligence man, I find that weather report concept unaccepetable. But yes, our intelligence was not good enough," Narayanan admitted.
For the moment, South Block is gearing up for the Australian cricket tour and security of high-profile visitors at least is assured.
