Mumbai: Parzania, which releases this Friday, is a film based on the story of a family whose son went missing during the 2002 Gujarat riots. Before its release the family saw the movie for the first time and it was an emotional moment for all.

From the moment they arrived the Mody family, who specially came down to Mumbai from Ahmedabad to watch the film, could not hold back their tears.

The family met the star cast of the film just before the screening and when the reel life family met the real family it was a rare mix of emotions.

Rupa and Dara along with their 15-year-old daughter Benafiya fought tears as they braved themselves to watch the film.

“I went looking for Azhar in hospitals and relief camps, so I am a little prepared to watch the film. I am here to see my son's picture in the film. I feel I am searching for my son through this movie,” says Rupa.

For Dara, Azhar’s father, life has never been about losing hope and he is ready to battle all odds.

“I feel everybody should watch the film. I am here to see the film and I will see that the film releases and my boy is found. I am never going to give up hope,” says Dara.

After watching the two-hour long film the family walked out distraught, speechless and overwhelmed with emotions.

Parzania hits theatres on January 26 but for the Mody family the search for Azhar continues.
