Binoop Mohan India has finally achieved another milestone in her 60 years of Life . Rs.20,000crore has been spent for cleaning the river and the project is already 13 years behind schedule . Now I inderstand the logic behind the recent report that " There are more Indian millionaires in the Forbes list than other Asian countries . hats off to all the great souls who acted behind this stupendous act.Congratulations India ......

tojoe The only way to clean up Ganga is to bring in all temple priest's and Sadhu's to act.. Ask them to start a movement.. they will be able the convince the ordiary folks who are not literate.. the literate lot in our country or middle class which is most selfish will not act as long as they are not affected directly till some polluted water comes thru their tap.. they never act on anything till they are on fire.. only can write on the net or speak on TV

Smrity Its shameful for those politicians who take the supprt of our culture to win over the hearts of common people but this article has outshone there greedness for power position. How can they protect our culture when they cannot stop the degradation of Ganga. Its high time now when people should unite together and demand for strict action , if we don't want to narrate the stories of escaped Ganga to our future.

Pradeep Dubey I would like to thank CNN-IBN for the investigation on our sacred river, Ganga. In my view, the government itself doesn't want to make Ganga clean. Our politician and bureaucrats inherit the traits of keeping issues alive, so as to reap personal benefits for long.

There are many solutions which government can think of implementing.

1 - Fool proof monitoring systems has to implemented for the existing GAP
2 - Outsource this mission to private sector, so that the accountability can easily be drawn out.
3 - A bill has to be passed in the parliament for banning on the source which causes pollution

I have a very little hope with our politician and bureaucrats, it's we and media can make this happen. I would request CNN-IBN for not to stop this initiative.

Do not waste time what had happened, focus on what can done to make our river Ganga clean

Aditya Mookerjee Mahant Mishraji, and other prominent personages of Kashi, must positively help the administration, in the cleansing of the waters. It is not an auspicious state of affairs. The sewage, must be treated, and decomposed, ecologically. Efforts must be made towards the attempt, if it is not possible. Waste Chemicals may be recycled, and reused, in an acceptable manner. It is unthinkable, that the Abode Of Lord Shiva, is being desecrated, in such a manner. There is no time for surmise.

Sameer Ganga is the most sacred river of India. Since childhood we have been visiting Haridwar, the place where it descends on the plains. Its cleaner there but if you see it in Plains of Uttar Pradesh like Garh, the water is polluted and full of dirt. Moreover since Tehri dam has been erected the water content also seems to be less...

senthil I think CNN had done nice job but they have still work to do...They got to show feedback of the government every month like GAP's progress is low even after CNN coverage. They should put pressure on government by showing their inability.
